Corner Prop Piece is not site-specific, but it does require a specific type of installation site. Like Standpoint (n. 12) the two components of this work rely on the floor and two walls of the gallery in order to remain upright. Once the sculpture has come to life through equilibrium and gravity, the work defines its surrounding space. The lead absorbs and reflects light in a similar way as the onyx that comprises Brancusi’s Torso of a Young Girl in the opposite corner.
